After School Program

The After School Program is an enrichment program for the youth and children of the Park Village. This program consists of education, reading, art, and other activities that help nurture the growth of the young people of Park Village. Now included in the after-school program is the integration of our health program. We have included the CATCH curriculum in the after-school program. The CATCH curriculum will include programs that will promote healthier choices, exercise, educate students on healthy eating, and allocate time for recreation activities in our after-school program. Volunteers from the University of Pacific and others come to help with tutoring, daily activities, and planning assessments.

The After School Program also includes a cultural aspect. APSARA staff provides cultural dancing classes every week on Thursdays and Fridays from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm. This is an open opportunity for students to get involved. There are approximately 28 students who participate in the program regularly. The dance group then performs in events hosted at Park Village, school events, or other special ceremonies and events.
